4月は徳島へ行く機会があり、少しの時間ですが、徳島港のアルゼンチンアリを観察できました。徳島を訪れるのは初めてですが、知人の研究者に場所を教えていただき、ぶじに生息地へたどり着くことができました。生息範囲は広くない印象を受けました。また、まだ春先だからか、駆除活動がなされているからか、全体に数も多くありませんでしたが、ところどころで行列が見られました。写真の背景に写っている場所はこれから埋め立てられて活用されるそうです。港ならではの風景かと思い、今回の代表的な1枚として掲載します。

さて、これまでの私のアルゼンチンアリ探訪の楽しみとして、ついでにご当地グルメをいただくというのがあったのですが、今回も、徳島のラーメンを2軒いけました。1軒は徳島ラーメンの有名店いのたにさん、もう1軒は鯛出汁塩ラーメンの堂の浦さん。ラーメンの写真も下に掲載します。いつか鳴門鯛が食べたいなぁ、と夢を膨らませて帰路につきました。

I had a chance to visit Tokushima Prefecture and observe Argentine ants of Tokushima Port in the last April. Though this was my first visit to Tokushima, I could locate the ants without problem, thanks to the information by my colleague researcher. The invaded area appeared still small, and the ants were not so abundant. However, I found some trails like the one in the top image. Argentine ants were walking alongside the waterfront. According to the local, the background bay area is to be reclaimed in the near future.

Other than the ants, I enjoyed two great ramen restaurants "Inotani" and "Dou-no-ura"in Tokushima City.
