昨夜～今朝にかけても今住んでいる川崎は雨でした。前回の話につづいて、雨のポルトでアルゼンチンアリ撮影に苦戦した話を書きたいと思います。まず、最初に載せているのが、撮影場所であるボリャオン市場です。雨で地面が濡れているのが分かるでしょうか。ここはポルトで最も古い市場として有名だそうです。1839年に始まり、1914年に造られた建家で2018年まで100年以上営業していたそう。2018年5月からは改装のため営業を2年間停止しています。私が撮影に行ったのは2016年5月なので、運良く見られたといえるかもしれません。市場の入口では写真のとおりおじさんが音楽を演奏していましたが、そのすぐ脇の壁を、アルゼンチンアリがちょろちょろと歩いていました。春先で行列規模が小さく(1mあたり5頭程度しか歩いていない)、引きで撮ったら黒い点にしかならず、アップで撮っても背景が面白くなく、1枚写真としては大変難しいものになりました。その写真が下のものです。なんとか3頭出会ったところを撮りましたが、やはり面白味や美しさはありません。今再考すると、

・もう少し引きで撮影し30cm程度の範囲を写す

・夏～秋、あるいは世界の他地域で同等の範囲を写し、並べて提示して比較できるようにする

を試みるのが良かったかもしれません。

It rained again from last night to early morning today. So I write about my experience in rainy Porto again. The upper photo is the entrance of Mercado do Bolhão, the oldest market in the city. You can see the floor had gotton wet by rainfall. The market started in 1839, and the building I visited in 2016 was built in 1914. It is now temporarily closed for renewal from May 2018. I found some Argentine ants walking on the wall just beside the musician in the photo. I wanted to take a photo of Argentine ant trail, but few ants were on the track, say, only 5 ants in 1m. So I took a close-up of some ants like below, but the background was very, very boring.
