It's winter here in Japan, and Argentine ants are still active. On the New Year's Eve I went to look for them in Kobe City. Tempereture was 4.8℃ at lowest and 9.7℃ at highest. I found Argentine ants were gathering around a wasted cocoa cup nearby a famous Starbucks in the port park area. Though not warm, surely they got some sweet.

大晦日に神戸に出かけたところ、アルゼンチンアリがまだ活動していました。メリケンパークでスタバのココアの飲み残しに集まってきていました。糖分補給ができたものと思われます。この日神戸は最低気温4.8℃、最高気温9.7℃だったとのこと。文献によると5℃以上あれば活動できるそうです。
