南仏へ行ってきました。マルセイユ、カシの近郊のエリアです。プライベートの旅行で、アリがメインではありませんでしたが、研究者の友人に案内してもらって、アルゼンチンアリを見ることができました。ゴッホの絵のように(？)うねる行列。ふつう、アリは最短距離をいくために、より直線的な行列を作ると思いますが、壁の凹凸が影響してこのような蛇行した行列になったのかもしれません。

I visited southern France, near Marseille and Cassis, as a private trip with my wife. It was not for ant purpose, but we  had a chance to hang with a friend myrmecologist and he guided us to Argentine ant area. Argentine ants were forming a wavy trail like the paint of van Gogh. Usually ants form more straight trails. Perhaps the wall surface was bumpy.
