ナショジオのフォトグラファー、マーク・モフェット氏撮影の、ピラニアの骸骨に群がるアルゼンチンアリ。南米の野生が伝わってくる、圧倒的な力をもつ1枚です。彼の著書、「ADVENTURES AMONG ANTS」（日本語版：アリたちとの大冒険）に収められています。撮影の経緯は記されていませんが、南米に渡航してみて、このようなシーンは、自然に魚が川岸に打ち上げられて発生するというより、釣り人がほかすことによって発生する確率が圧倒的に高いと思います。

With due respect, this is one of the very best photos of Argentine ants I have ever known. I wonder how such a spectacle occurred. Detailed situation is not described in the book, but  based on my personal experience in Rio Parana, I suspect the piranha was thrown away on the ground by a fisherman, rather than washed ashore.
